9. Hulk Hogan's In-Ring Debut For WCW

Date: July 17th, 1994 It was something that pro wrestling fans never thought they would see. Hulk Hogan, the man who helped to build the WWF into the billion-dollar industry that it has become, wrestling for WWF's biggest rival, WCW. Of course, it certainly wasn't the last moment that Hogan had in WCW that blew everyone away, but more on that later. When you look back at 1994's Bash At The Beach pay-per-view, it should have been one of the biggest days the sport had ever seen. The night's main event was Ric Flair defending the WCW World Title against the debuting Hogan, with Mr. T and NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal involved to get the mainstream media talking. Unfortunately, it was basically treated like anything involving Ric Flair during his last decade or so with the company... WCW passing him over and treating him like a second-class citizen for someone else they feel can make them more money. That's not to say Flair is a bigger draw than Hogan, but WCW, as a whole, viewed Flair in the 1990's like "we need you a lot until we don't need you anymore", riding his wave when they had no other options, but tossing him to the side when a new "flavor" showed up. Hogan won the title here in his first match with WCW, and would then go on to "retire" Flair a couple months later, finally finishing with a record of 26-7-3 all-time in matches against Flair (four of Flair's wins were by countout or disqualification). That's ugly.
