14. Diamond Dallas Page & Karl Malone VS Hollywood Hogan & Dennis Rodman
WWE.com
Date: July 12th, 1998 While it wasn't exactly a technical classic by any stretch of the imagination, this tag match from WCW's Bash At The Beach pay-per-view in 1998 was one of the biggest of all-time when it comes to mainstream media coverage. Malone and Rodman were two of the biggest names in all of sports, and the fact that they were coming in to wrestle a match alongside two of the biggest names in pro wrestling was huge news everywhere. It was on every bit of sports media in the country, and even plenty of non-sports media (Entertainment Tonight, The Tonight Show, and so on). You can fault WCW for a lot of the decisions they made through the years, and even though this decision didn't lead to a five-star match, you can't fault them for doing something like this, getting plenty of extra attention, and it paid off for them. It was the company's second most pay-per-view buys in history, behind only Starrcade 1997, when Hollywood Hogan and Sting finally had their match. That's not bad for an event headlined by a match involving two basketball players.
