20 Most Cringe-Worthy Gimmicks In WCW History

9. The Shark

John Tenta was a perfectly serviceable big man and had a pretty decent run in the WWE as Earthquake. When the former sumo showed up in WCW as a member of the nefarious Kevin Sullivan€™s 3 Faces of Fear, he was originally known as Avalanche. WWE threatened legal action over the similarities in names so WVW rechristened Tenta as The Shark. Sporting ridiculous facepaint that turned the sides of his mouth into shark teeth and even going so far as to have his LSU tiger tattoo converted into a shark, Tenta looked laughable. He would also hold his hand on the top of his head in the form of a fin and simulate swimming around the ring. Eventually John had enough of the stupidity and delivered a promo where he uttered the famous line €œ"I'm not the Shark. I'm not a fish. I'm not an Avalanche. I'm a man"
