Most of the gimmicks on this list earned their spot due to how mind-numbingly stupid they were, and the sad fact that someone in a well-paid position of power thought that they would get over. But Oklahoma makes the cut due to the pointless offensive nature. WCW writer Ed Ferrera, the Harry Dunne to Vince Russos Lloyd Christmas, thought it would be clever to go on television dressed like Jim Ross and make fun of the beloved WWE play-by-play man. Had he just trotted out there in his cowboy hat and yelled Ross-isms like slobberknocker and business is about to pick up over and over, it would have been funny for about 3 weeks and then fans would have grown tired of it. Instead Ferrara also used the character to mock Ross Bells Palsy, a condition which left the side of his face paralyzed and hindered his ability to speak. Ross himself had been very self-conscious about the condition and was hesitant to return to the announce desk afterward. Here was a guy who had universal goodwill with wrestling fans the world over due to his stellar commentary during some of wrestlings biggest moments, and this idiot decides hes going to tease him for a medical problem that he had no control over. It was tasteless and classless, angered much of the talent who respected Ross and continued to paint WCW as a second rate promotion, as did many of Russo and Ferraras decisions. The fans rejected the character and to this day Ferrara is still loathed by those within the industry and its followers for the shameful move.
