There was a smaller window for this match than you might think. Roman Reigns wasn't on the main roster radar during Batista's first run with WWE, and 'Big Dave' only returned for a scatter of select matches in 2014 and 2019. Somehow, Roman and Batista managed to meet up on a random Raw in mid-May 2014.
It left people wanting more.
Various run-ins led to the bout being thrown out. Reigns and Batista would clash on pay-per-view as part of The Shield and Evolution afterwards, but they'd never match up one-on-one again. In other words, that "more" people wanted? They didn't get it.
