20 Former WWE Stars Who Should Enter A Gimmick Battle Royal At WrestleMania 37
4. The Brooklyn Brawler
Steve Lombardi, the man behind one of the WWE’s most prestigious perennial enhancement talents, was with the organization for 33 years before his release in 2013. He was the ultimate company man.
There is an art to jobbing, and The Brooklyn Brawler perfected it throughout his extensive tenure. Lombardi rose to prominence in 1989 under the doomed tutelage of Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan, wearing his torn jeans and shredded New York Yankees top.
Never one to shy away from a fight, the Brooklynite made a career out of losing and making his opponents look good. Lombardi also had equally winless spells under a few other gimmicks most memorably, or infamously, as Abe ‘Knuckleball’ Schwartz, the guy who painted his face like a baseball.
Why else should Lombardi get a spot in the WrestleMania Gimmick Battle Royal 2.0? Because, he would be the only wrestler to feature in both renditions of the match, since he took part at ‘Mania X-Seven as Kimchee – Kamala’s handler.
It’s backwards logic, but The Brooklyn Brawler would be one of the more popular choices to win this match.
