20 Former WWE Stars Who Should Enter A Gimmick Battle Royal At WrestleMania 37
3. Tatanka
Tatanka has a funny ol’ history with battle royals.
Chris Chavis, under the moniker of Tatanka - a headdress wearing, war-crying Native American - was a tremendously popular figure with audiences. After debuting in 1992 during The New Generation, Tatanka embarked on a lengthy television undefeated streak for the first 19 months of his run. During this period, he unsurprisingly won match of the night honours at WrestleMania IX opposite Shawn Michaels for the Intercontinental Championship, and won the 1992 40-man ‘Bashed in the USA’ battle royal.
Ultimately however, Tatanka is best remembered as the king of random returns.
He first made a shock appearance in the 2006 Royal Rumble match, before properly returning to regular competition on SmackDown for a couple years, during which he began painting his face black and white. Nevertheless, the red-haired warrior still had one more surprise return up his sleeve. Emerging out of nowhere in 2016, Tatanka was a straight up weird entrant in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32. He was not successful in this match.
Could Tatanka add a WrestleMania Gimmick Battle Royal victory to his over-the-top-rope résumé?
Unlikely, but not totally crazy.
