20 Former WWE Stars Who Should Enter A Gimmick Battle Royal At WrestleMania 37

17. The Godfather

This feels like an appropriate time to add The Godfather to this list.

Granted, Charles Wright's most iconic character as the womanizing pimp leader of the ‘Ho Train’ hasn’t aged well, but back in the Attitude Era, he was extremely popular and an ideal character for the edgier product of the time.

After dramatically failing as the polarizing voodoo practitioner Papa Shango and shoot fighting ‘badass’ Kama Mustafa, Wright found his niche in the WWF as The Godfather. Winning the Intercontinental Championship along the way, he put together a nice little career, which ultimately landed him in the Hall of Fame under his funky party man guise.

During his HOF speech in 2016, Wright mentioned that never before had there been a character more connected to a wrestler’s personality, better than himself and The Godfather. Take that how you will, but it definitely showed in his presentation, as he was so naturally entertaining in this role and beloved by audiences for it.

The Godfather always gets a pop when his theme music hits, and would well and truly get fans out of their seats as his ‘Ho Train’ strutted down the WrestleMania ramp.
