20 Former WWE Stars Who Should Return For Brand Split 2016
9. Brian Kendrick
Like some of the other men and women on this list, Brian Kendrick has actually racked up multiple stints with WWE during his career. The then-23-year-old first joined WWE in 2002, using his independent wrestling name of Spanky. He briefly teamed with Paul London, but left the company in early 2004. The following year he was back under his real name and teaming with London once again. The two held the WWE Tag Team Titles for 11 months, and when London left the company, Kendrick was repackaged as a singles heel. It didn't last long, and in 2009, he was gone.
Following his release from WWE, Kendrick worked for TNA and New Japan Pro Wrestling. He was also highly critical of WWE in interviews and that - combined with rumors that he was repeatedly fined for using marijuana during his tenure with the company - made a comeback look unlikely. Nevertheless, he returned as a trainer in 2014 and has occasionally competed on NXT shows.
Earlier in the week, Kendrick was announced as a competitor in the company's upcoming Cruiserweight Classic tournament. That could easily herald a full-time return to action for the 37-year-old, if he's interested.
