20 Former WWE Stars Who Should Return For Brand Split 2016

1. Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle's tenure with WWE was marked by hills and valleys. He was one of the fastest-rising stars in company history, and within a year of his debut he was a main-eventer for life. He could be counted upon to play any role, and his matches were always top-notch. At the same time, though, he racked up numerous injuries and developed an addiction to painkillers that ultimately ended his WWE tenure.

In the ten years since his departure, he's become a multi-time champion in TNA, and while his drug issues seem to be under control, his injuries have only gotten worse. His physical condition has kept WWE from pursuing him in recent years, despite Angle's own admission that he's interested in a return to the company.

Angle doesn't have to wrestle to be an asset to WWE, though. Reprising his old role as Smackdown's General Manager would be the perfect use of the star, and would kick off the new Smackdown on a newsworthy note. Plus, if he can get cleared for one more match, a WrestleMania showdown against Brock Lesnar would be a major selling point for the show.
