When you think of Steve Austin and Vince McMahon, bromance is most likely not the first words you think of. Something closer to mortal enemies is probably what most fans have in mind. But once the two were done beating each others brains out for years, they ended up forming one hell of a classic bromance. The two came together in the main event of WrestleMania 17, which was a shocking moment for fans everywhere. McMahon helped Austin win. This couldn't be real! It began to get even weirder, though, when Austin transformed into Danny Tanner and became a lean, mean, hugging machine. Something had changed in The Texas Rattlesnake. He needed McMahons constant approval. The relationship dynamic began to change from equals, to Austin becoming more of a disturbed son. Austin gave his boss presents, had his wife Debra bake him cookies and even sang for him. While the two formed quite the unique relationship, to the surprise of no one, Steve Austin and Vince McMahon as hug buddies was nowhere near as successful as their time as mortal enemies.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
