To most people, Brutus the Barber Beefcake was a mediocre wrestler with mediocre wrestling abilities. To Hulk Hogan, though, he was a brother. Brother. For all of the complaints one may have about Hogan playing politics backstage, you do have to give it to the man for taking care of his friends. Wherever Hogan shows up, it seems that Brutus and The Nasty Boys arent far behind. Before the two ever teamed up in the WWF, they tagged together in various territories. The bromance developed at a young age, and blossomed throughout their careers. The two teamed up with the gimmick of brothers (brother!) as Hulk and Dizzy Hogan. In the WWF their most notable match together was at SummerSlam 89. Randy Savage had the evil Zeus on his side, and Hogan had his barber. It was the battle of the summer! The two again went their separate ways before re-teaming in 1993 to take on Money Inc. at WrestleMania IX. Beefy and Hulk again joined forces in WCW, where Brutus ended up with one of the cushiest wrestling jobs of all time as The Disciple, Hogans bodyguard. He just had to grow a beard and stand there. In 2011, Linda Bollea, Hulk Hogans ex-wife, alleged that the two even had a stronger relationship than a bromance. But until either of them confirms something like that, we'll simply have to enjoy their on-screen time together.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
