20 Greatest Foreign Stars Who Made It Big In WWE

4. Bruno Sammartino

Italian superstar Bruno Sammartino is widely considered to be one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He held what was then the WWWF Championship for almost eight years in the 1960s, which remains the longest single championship reign in history. Sammartino feuded with just about every top competitor of the period, including Gorilla Monsoon, Killer Kowalski and George "The Animal" Steele. He is one of the most popular men in the history of wrestling, but throughout his retirement he has expressed concerns about the lurid storylines and over-the-top angles that have taken over the recent years of sports entertainment. He became a Hall of Famer in 2013 after ironing out his difficulties and issues with Vince McMahon and the WWE's creative team.
