8. Forever Hardcore (2005)

Put together by TNA's Jeremy Borash, Forever Hardcore is an unauthorised look at the original Extreme Championship Wrestling. It's a love letter to fans of the company, and assumes that those watching have a lot of knowledge regarding the promotion's history. That's fine, because it serves the intended purpose through interesting interview footage.

The film examines several incidents that WWE probably wouldn't be willing to when talking about ECW, such as the 'Mass Transit' controversy from 1996. ECW's rich history is explored, but in more detail than another WWE release featured later on this list. Forever Hardcore is definitely for those who want more than the established party line that ECW went as far as they could go.

Borash pulled together quite the cast of characters to act as talking heads, and the likes of Terry Funk, Raven and Shane Douglas do a sterling job. Even Joey Styles, just before he was signed to WWE, was approached for comments. The timing of the latter is brilliant, because Styles was the voice of ECW.
