After a relatively disappointing first year with WWE, Jeff Jarrett would finally find the missing piece of his character's puzzle when introducing Brian James' 'Roadie' character to his act.

Interfering liberally for Jarrett, The Roadie would be the most influential figure in this clash too, as 'Double J' would shockingly upset Razor Ramon to win his first Intercontinental Title and kickstart one of the more underrated feuds of the year.

After the early stages appeared to signal a comfortable victory for Razor, Jarrett dodged a Ramon charge and sent 'The Bad Guy' sailing over the top rope.

Hitting his knee hard on the floor, Ramon didn't even have time to survey the damage before 'The Roadie' swept through his bad leg from behind, causing significant further injury to the Champion. Laying in a heap and unable to answer the ten-count, Ramon had lost the match, but not his title.

However, Jarrett challenged Razor to continue the match instead, and Ramon's courage would spell his demise.

Cinching in a figure-four leglock, Jarrett punished his opponent's weak spot, and when 'The Bad Guy' was unable to put any weight on his knee to finish Jarrett with The Razor's Edge, 'Double J' was able to fall on top and shock the crowd with a huge victory.
