The Rock stopped being a regular performer in WWE in 2004. He made some sporadic appearances in pre-taped promos and things like that, but it never felt like he was back until the February 14, 2011 edition of Raw. It was hyped a lot as The People's Champ returned to WWE as the host of WrestleMania 27. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wh1LWu-H-lk When The Rock appeared on the stage that night, it was one of the loudest ovations you will ever hear. He sure soaked in the pops that night as he should have. They gave him 25 minutes in the main event slot to say what he wanted to say and the crowd was into everything he said. This promo set the stage for what would be his three year return as the host of WM27, then his two matches with John Cena at WM28 and WM29. He said that he would never leave WWE again. It wasn't totally true because he's very much a part timer, but it was true in the sense that he was back in the company that made him famous.
