This is one of the most memorable return ovations ever because of who it was, where it was and how much it was built up. We saw Triple H tear his quad in the ring on Raw in May 2001, which led to him missing the next seven months. He returned on the first Raw of the year in 2002 in New York City's Madison Square Garden and it was the loudest ovation of his career. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRGQugQpjz8 Even though he was a heel for most of his run leading up to this moment, the fans had a lot of respect for him and they missed him. It also helped that WWE ran that "It's a Beautiful Day" U2 video package building up his return over and over on their television shows. It was a long, sustained ovation for a guy that was a main event for several years prior to this and would be a top guy for the next decade and beyond. That night in MSG was a special one for Triple H.
