It's been said that the dollar store located next to the old ECW Arena used to do a roaring trade whenever the company were hosting shows, because fans would buy anything and everything they could to take to the matches with them. Obviously, steel chairs were popular weapons of choice throughout the 90's in ECW, but the madness didn't stop there. For many ECW matches, there weren't really any rules on disqualification, which gave wrestlers the freedom to brawl around ringside and into the crowd without fear of censure from the referee. Many times, the official was only really there to count the winning fall, helpless to stop the mayhem unfolding before their very eyes. It wasn't uncommon to see fans bring everything from computer keyboards, pots and pans and even a literal kitchen sink to ringside, all for their favourite performers to grab off them and nail their opponent with. The cheers were wild as a variety of objects connected with the human skull, although when Cactus Jack grabbed an iron skillet and smashed The Sandman with it, the fun almost stopped temporarily!
