20 More Surprising WWE Facts You Probably Didn't Know
2. Christian Was Killed By His Own Finish In A Movie
Many WWE superstars have appeared in low budget cinematic dreck over the years, humiliating themselves on straight-to-streaming garbage fires that should never have seen a green light.
Jay ‘Christian’ Reso may be the only one to appear in a film where he ends up being killed by his own finishing move, however.
In 2007's Dark Rising: Bring Your Battle Axe, the first in a Canadian horror comedy franchise that rips off Buffy The Vampire Slayer so badly that Joss Whedon should pay them to stop, Reso plays Ricky, the fast-talking ladies man best mate of the hero, who's bitten by a Kellipoth demon and made a monstrous servant of the Kingdom of Shells.
So far, so Kabbalah - but in the climax of the film, the not-a-rip-off-of-Buffy-or-Xena heroine Summer Vale delivers a perfect Killswitch to Demon-Ricky to take him out once and for all.
Okay, technically the two massive knives are probably what kills our Ricky... but I like to think that the Killswitch is now, canonically, a perfect demon-slaying move. Samoa Joe should have used it on Finn Balor instead of the Muscle Buster.
