There was a long period in the WWE when the flamboyancy of the '80s had seemed to die off entirely. Luckily, there was one knight in bedazzled armor who rode into the main event spotlight just in time to save us from the drabness that was the '90s.
Nothing about HBK's appearance has ever been subtle -- save for that brief period following his comeback in 2002 when he wrestled wearing jeans and cowboy boots -- and he always found a way to ramp it up even more for WrestleMania. The fancy chaps came out, as did the chainmail and chest straps.
