20 Most Iconic Wrestling Costumes Of All Time
19. John Cena
In the year 2000, if you'd been tasked with visualizing the next big icon of professional wrestling, it's unlikely you would've considered his wrestling gear and then said "jean shorts and baseball cap, no doubt". And yet, against all odds, John Cena undoubtedly became the hottest thing going in the PG Era while body slamming guys twice his size while wearing jorts.
Cena's look originally stemmed from his "Doctor of Thuganomics" hip-hop gimmick, which saw him sporting obnoxiously large gold chains and basketball jerseys with some cut-off denim. It was a distinctive look, but not one that would lend itself to a successful stay in the main event picture, so he simplified his attire a bit over time for a more, erm, "universal" look. But the jorts endured.
Like him or not, his style remains one of the more individualistic in today's pro wrestling landscape.
