20 Most Iconic WWE Entrance Themes

2. Hulk Hogan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFwXmz1KGoQ One of the most popular anthem's in recognizable history, "Real American" is commonly attributed to Hulk Hogan. However, the theme was never really intended for "the Hulkster." In 1985, shortly before the release of "The Wrestling Album", the WWE commissioned Rick Derringer to compose a tune for Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo-- The US Express. However, shortly after the release of the album, the team bolted for the National Wrestling Alliance, and the theme was given to WWF champion Hulk Hogan, which was clearly a much better fit. For nearly 30 years, the track has been associated with Hogan, patriotism, and America in general, even being used by President Barack Obama before a speech in 2012. The upbeat tune, accompanied by motivational lyrics from Derringer has lived in the hearts of wrestling fans ever since. The theme gained new life in 2014, as Hulk Hogan made a return to the WWE as an on-screen personality, as well as added play due to U.S. participation in the World Cup. "Real American" is one of the few themes in which has transcended wrestling, and made its way into popular culture.
