20 Most RANDOM WWE Royal Rumble Entrants

12. Santina Marella (2020)

Chyna, Beth Phoenix, Kharma and Nia Jax have all entered the men's Royal Rumble match, but Santino Marella remains the only one to flip that idea on its head and enter the women's version (R-Truth ran in on the 2024 match unofficially). He did so as his "twin sister" Santina during the 2020 match. There, Marella was startled by Natalya and Beth Phoenix, then eliminated himself after just one minute of work.

Fingers crossed Santino still got a tasty payday for minimal effort. That's a worker, folks!

The thing that makes this so random is that the Santina character hadn't really been seen on WWE programming since 2009. Sure, Marella did work the gimmick for a cameo spot during a Raw Reunion show in July 2019, but that wasn't in-ring. Nobody was expecting this comedy guise to pop back up in 2020, that's for sure. Some even expressed concerns that Marella had taken a spot away from one of the hardworking full-timers in the women's division, but this was all blatantly played for laughs and was a let me up moment in the match.

WWE's cameras caught up with Santina afterwards, and Marella continued the pretence that he was his own sister. That sort of mirrored what Elias would go on to do in 2022 when he pretended to be his own brother Ezekiel. Kevin Owens saw right through that, and he'd have spotted the flaw in Marella's plans too.

It was so out there for WWE to bring Santina back after approx 11 years on the shelf as something fans might remember or pay attention to.
