16. Sean O'Haire (February 25, 1971 - September 8, 2014)
Named the "Rookie of the Year" by the Wrestling Observer in 2000, Sean O'Haire was considered a can't-miss prospect that never reached full potential because of WWE booking. O'Haire became a tag team star in the dying days of WCW, teaming with Chuck Palumbo as part of the Natural Born Thrillers stable and capturing the tag team titles on multiple occasions. For a wrestler who stood 6'6 and weighed well over 250 lbs., O'Haire flew around the ring like a cruiserweight and his senton bomb from the top rope was spectacular. When WCW was purchased by WWE, O'Haire joined the Alliance as part of the dreadful Invasion angle where he and Palumbo were dominated by Kane and the Undertaker. The team did nothing of note in WWE despite being huge stars in WCW and O'Haire was sent to OVW to learn to work "WWE style". When he returned, O'Haire debuted an awesome new character where he played an evil motivational speaker. He convinced people to succumb to their evil thoughts like cheating on their spouses, breaking the law, or not go to church. He even had an awesome catchphrase: "But I'm not telling you anything you don't already know." The character had huge potential and was garnering a following until WWE decided to pair him with over-the-hill 80s star Roddy Piper in a feud against Hulk Hogan and Zach Gowen. Instantly, his coolness factor disappeared, the character was abandoned, and O'Haire was stuck with nothing to do. He requested his release in April 2004. After kicking around the independent scene and Japan, O'Haire tried his luck at kickboxing and MMA but did not find success. A series of personal problems plagued the former star and his life seemed to slipping out of control. In September 2014, after attempting rehab multiple times, O'Haire was found dead in his home having committed suicide. Sean O'Haire had all the tools to be a main event star but sadly his demons were too much to overcome.
