Undoubtedly, one of the most surprising moments of all 2016 came at the Royal Rumble when the #3 participant was revealed.

Roman Reigns stood alone in the ring, waiting for the next participant to enter when suddenly a mysterious message in Gothic lettering displaying "I am..." appeared on the Titan Tron and unknown organ music played over Orlando's Amway Center speakers. It wasn't until the word "Phenomenal" spread across the screen that many fans realized what was happening.

Seconds later, AJ Styles was front and center, ready to make his long awaited WWE debut.

While the camera man botched the reveal on the live broadcast, choosing instead to focus quite closely on the face of Roman Reigns, everyone eventually became aware who the third participant was and it was a sight many fans thought they'd never see.

Despite all the moments that were still to come in 2016, when it's all said and done, this year may be most famously remembered as the year that AJ Styles arrived in WWE.
