Throughout Zack Ryder's 10 years with WWE, he's been primarily used to put other stars over including Edge, Kane, John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, and countless others.

In 2011, Ryder began his incredibly popular YouTube show, Z! True Long Island Story, earning him millions of fans over the course of the show's 100+ episodes despite not appearing on WWE television.

By 2012, Ryder's popularity earned him a brief run with the United States Championship, but soon found his character in a wheelchair watching John Cena steal his girlfriend, followed almost immediately by Kane tossing him off the Raw stage. It was a WWE burial at its finest and many attribute it to Zack getting over without WWE's approval.

For the next four years, Zack wasn't used much except to once again put over talent in relative squash matches. So when WrestleMania 32 set WWE's attendance record of over 100,000 fans, it was quite the surprise to see Zack Ryder in the opening Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship. What was even more surprising, however, was Zack Ryder pulling down the Intercontinental Championship, winning the match!

Although his reign would last just 24 hours, Ryder winning gold at the largest show in WWE history was certainly unbelievable.
