20 Obscure WWE Tag Teams You Totally Don't Remember

18. The Godfather & D'Lo Brown

Career midcarder D'Lo Brown was an underutilised WWE performer who could match anyone in the ring, but never really found his groove outside the European Title division. He was always a prominent figure throughout the Attitude Era, but aside from his involvement with the Nation of Domination and feud with X-Pac, he was rarely treated with any kind of credibility and left WWE as a huge case of squandered potential.

His first WWE run ended with Brown bouncing from tag partner to tag partner, and he connected with his fellow former Nation member . The Godfather, in late 1999. D'Lo was in needed of new direction after the Droz paralysis incident, and WWE's answer was to have him emulate The Godfather's flashy attire, taunts, and ring entrance.

It was a hastily cobbled together team that seemed to exist only for the sake of keeping both men on television, and the duo found little success in the division. They traded wins and losses with fellow middling teams like Too Cool and The Headbangers without ever breaking into title contention, and D'Lo eventually grew tired of the neon waistcoats and feather hats: he turned on Godfather in April, and soon moved on to his next mediocre tag team.
