20 Reasons Why Last Night's WWE Raw Was An Absolute Mess

12. Home Team Nonsense

The purpose of Seth Rollins' minging promo was primarily to gee the crowd up for Team Raw ahead of Survivor Series. This would be a smart move if Raw, SmackDown, and NXT all had distinct, partisan audiences who are steadfastly loyal to their brand. That's not the case, though.

Look at the viewership demographics. There are some subtle differences but, for the most part, the people who are watching Raw are the same people who are watching SmackDown and NXT. NXT aside (given the show's "cult" image), asking them to pick sides makes no sense at all because they're all under the same umbrella and all serve the same master.

It's telling, too, that the fans chanted for NXT when Rollins tried putting Raw over. Who on earth would hitch their wagon to the impossibly lame main roster?
