20 Reasons Why WWE Fastlane 2019 Was An Absolute Mess

4. An Opportunity Earned?

Much of Becky Lynch's patter since becoming 'The Man' has revolved around earned opportunities versus gifts. She earns her shots, while Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey were handed theirs. It's a simple, effective piece of antihero presentation, and feeds into her opponents' characters, particularly Flair, who has always worked best as an entitled silver-spoon heel.

So obviously, when Becky faced Charlotte for the opportunity to be added to WrestleMania 35's main event... she'd earn that victory, right? Somehow, she'd find a way to beat 'The Queen.' She'd prove that 'The Man' isn't an act by defeating the company-sponsored golden child. and then, hopefully, score victory on the night itself, taking her character arc full circle?

Nope! She won via disqualification.

In a move that undermined everything the Becky Lynch character is supposed to be about, 'The Lass Kicker' punched her WrestleMania ticket not through heroism or determination, but because Rousey whacked her while she was down. She'll be in the main event, but she hasn't earned a thing.

The Triple Threat is going to rule. Sadly, the build's recent detour through Sh*tsville means the next few weeks could be rough.
