20 Reasons Why WWE WrestleMania 39 Absolutely RULED
3. The Workhorse Title Indeed
Bloody hell, GUNTHER, Sheamus, and Drew McIntyre went all in, delivering a most bruising, vulgar match over the former's Intercontinental title.
Often monikered WWE's workhorse title, that utterance has arguably never been as apropos as this match. They knocked lumps out of each other while crafting a nifty story, Sheamus and McIntyre's dissolving friendship being at the epicentre of it. The auspicious nature of this allowed for GUNTHER to be a governing beast, chopping, Lariating, and Powerbombing the life out of his two challengers. It was a defining WrestleMania moment for the Intercontinental title, the levels of which haven't been reached since the critical 'Mania III clash between Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat.
That GUNTHER is consistently bringing out the best in his adversaries is reason enough to condone his continued ascendancy as Intercontinental Champion. The title hasn't been in such good hands in years.
