WrestleMania 39 was also going to be a saccharine night for Cody Rhodes, but nobody was emotionally prepared for who was waiting for him in the audience.
Greeting his family - including wife Brandi and daughter Liberty - Cody gifted his customised weightlifting belt to Brodie Huber, the son of the late Brodie Lee. The moment was clearly weepy for young Brodie, whose face told the whole story; this match was not only for Cody's father, but for his as well.
Cody Rhodes' WrestleMania moment was never going to be wholly about him, such is the tenderhearted person he is. No matter how sneering audiences may respond to him, Cody Rhodes is for the people, always and forever.
