A Triple H Vs. Mike Tyson Boxing Match

Mike Tyson and WWE have a solid working relationship. The former boxing champ famously served as a DX-affiliated enforcer during Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin’s WrestleMania XIV match, but he turned on HBK and knocked him out after counting the pinfall for Austin.

Earning a cool $3 million for his first appearance, Tyson returned in 2010 to reignite his DX allegiance after turning on Chris Jericho during a tag match, and he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012.

WWE had another twist for the tumultuous DX/Tyson relationship in mind, however. WrestleMania X7 is regarded as a near-perfect wrestling event, and Triple H’s brutal, chaotic brawl with The Undertaker stands as one of the night’s best matches. WWE’s original plans involved The Game and Tyson competing in a boxing match at the event, however: presumably ending with Tyson putting Triple H out of his misery in convincing fashion.

The idea was canned, and instead of feeding one of their biggest heels to a legendary boxer, WWE booked him in one of the best matches of his career.
