20 Superstars Who Only Had One Championship Reign In WWE
3. Billy Graham
"Superstar" Billy Graham's fingerprints were all over the golden era of the WWF. From his body type to his facial hair to his liberal use of the word "brother", Graham paved the trail for men like Ric Flair, Jesse Ventura, and Hulk Hogan.
Debuting for the WWWF in 1975, Graham was pushed to the top of the card and became World champion in 1977 by snapping Bruno Sammartino's second championship reign. Graham was just the sixth man to hold the world's most prestigious wrestling belt and, over the next nine months, he would defend it against the likes of Don Muraco, Pedro Morales, and Dusty Rhodes. Graham finally relinquished the title to Bob Backlund after 296 days as champion, which still stands the 12th longest in the championship's history.
The Superstar quit the company almost as soon as he dropped the title, but would return to the promotion numerous times in numerous roles over the following decades. Though he never got another reign with the top prize, one was more than enough to leave an indelible mark on the business as a whole. Just don't ask him his opinion on Kofi Kingston. You won't like it.
