20 Things We Learned From Brock Lesnar On Stone Cold's WWE Network Podcast
7. Joining UFC
Steve asks how Brock made the jump to the world of mixed martial arts. He replies that after trying out for the NFL he'd gone to New Japan Pro Wrestling to perform for them and they were trying to get him to try some MMA. He used his connections to sign a one fight contract with K1 where he beat Min Soo Kim. After trying unsuccessfully to hook up with Dana White, Brock told his manager at the time that he wanted to attend the event which featured Randy Couture vs. Gabriel Gonzaga. He bought his own tickets and sat in the crowd - which must have been torture for him - and after the fights he jumped the railing and went and grabbed Dana and introduced himself. They went backstage for a meeting and discussed everything but money because he says that wasn't his goal. He was more concerned with proving himself and told Dana if he couldn't make him money then not to invite him back for a second fight.
