Lucha Underground

One of the nice things about Lucha Underground is that because it has no PPV model, each episode has the same stakes. With the exception of Ultima Lucha, no episode was especially designed to be a major show. On one hand, that's good: fans will have to tune in every week, since title changes and major storyline developments can happen at any moment.

On the other hand, there's something to be said for pomp and pageantry. Perhaps a one-night, King of the Ring style tournament could be a 2-hour special, with a world title defense to end the night. Perhaps redeeming the Gift of the Gods should automatically trigger a stacked supercard to help lend a big fight feel to the proceedings. Or perhaps Lucha Underground could be trusted to run stipulation-based shows the way WWE tried to do. There's definitely one gimmick match I would like to see return, anyway …
