The combination of Fénix and Mil Muertes proved to be pure gold every time it happened during season one. They're natural rivals, and not only because one represents life and the other represents death. Mil Muertes is a lumbering, barrel-chested monster that will haymaker you to death, while Fénix is an aerial artist who relies to skill to do damage and heart to survive.

The ending of Ultima Lucha set these eternal rivals at odds yet again: Mil Muertes crushed Prince Puma to win the Lucha Underground championship, while Fénix outlasted the entirety of the promotion's upper midcard to capture the Gift of the Gods. They are destined to clash, but unless Fénix can find a way to reach a new level of power, he's just going to get powerbombed through the roof again.
