20 Times WWE Was An Absolute Mess In 2020

9. Rob Gronkowski's Existence

WhatCulture's Michael Sidgwick called Rob Gronwkowki's wrestling sojourn "the worst WWE career ever" earlier this year. He was right.

Signed in March, Gronko was gone by June, opting to join the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers rather than continuing his experimental run as a wrestler. In fairness, it's hard to begrudge any athlete with experience working for another professional sporting institution for catching one whiff of Vince McMahon's mania and fleeing the carnival, but regardless, the run was a farce.

An obnoxious, unlikeable jock from the moment he first danced out on SmackDown, Gronk hung out with Mojo Rawley, wore sh*tty jackets, "dived" from a raised platform at WrestleMania 36, won the 24/7 Championship, and quit while still holding the belt.

So much for the "one big, crazy match" the NFL tight end claimed he wanted to work.
