20 Times WWE Was An Absolute Mess In 2020

1. RETRIBUTION. Just RETRIBUTION.

WWE

The worst-booked stable in modern WWE history (and maybe ever), RETRIBUTION have been an omnishambles from the moment they first arrived on Raw, throwing bricks through production room windows, fiddling with the lighting, and harmlessly setting fire to equipment in the parking lot.

These toothless, gurning idiots promised to bring WWE to its knees, but were completely ineffective in doing so. Coming off more like petulant schoolchildren rather than agents of chaos, the group were given ridiculous monickers, booked like goobers, and cut nonsensical, rambling promos, the likes of which we haven't seen since Bray Wyatt was at his absolute worst.

Mustafa Ali's unveiling as RETRIBUTION's leader could have sparked an upturn, but no. The stable was still being booked to lose. Fast-forward a few weeks and RETRIBUTION now looks set to split, with Ali publically admonishing Reckoning and Slapjack on consecutive episodes of Raw.

There's a whiff of a good idea in a group of aggrieved WWE castoffs banding together to smash the system, but RETRIBUTION ain't it, chief. While none of this is the fault of the performers (save T-Bar, Twitter's most gotten-to "I'm not owned!" meme), this stable needs to be given the Men In Black treatment. Hit us with that bright flash of light and pretend the whole thing never happened.
