3. Finn Bálor

Current NXT champion Finn Bálor, aka Fergal Devitt, is named for two creations of Irish mythology: the legendary hero Fionn Mac Cumhaill (usually anglicised to Finn MacCool), and the one-eyed demon king Balor.

The storyline goes that the body paint and theatrical entrance Finn Bálor uses to become ‘the demon’ release a more aggressive, vicious streak in him, just as the Cactus Jack persona is (kayfabe) supposed to do for ‘Hardcore Legend’ Mick Foley… it’s just that ‘Cactus Jack’ is a little less mythically awe-inspiring, and a little more of a Father’s Day story.
