20 UFC Prospects Destined For Big Things In 2020

6. Nathaniel Wood

English bantamweight Nathaniel Wood made a name for himself on the European circuit, specifically in the magnificent Cage Warriors promotion. Although he always looked like a talented fighter, it feels like he's taken a huge leap in his game since he joined the UFC.

The 26-year old is oftentimes compared to his coach, former UFC bantamweight and British MMA legend Brad Pickett, but that wouldn't be completely accurate. Much like Pickett, Wood is well-rounded, mixing up his boxing, wrestling and jiu-jitsu seamlessly. Look at any of his fights inside the Octagon and it's clear he's a young man who understands the game of mixed martial arts extremely well. He's also got that love of the finish that helped make Pickett become the fan favourite that he is.

Where Wood differs when compared to his coach is that he doesn't always get stuck in a fire fight. There's a patience to his game that is beyond his years and is possibly due to learning from Pickett himself. With the sort of physical, technical and mental attributes Wood already has, we could be looking at a soon-to-be top five UFC bantamweight very soon.
