20 UFC Prospects Destined For Big Things In 2020

5. Alexander Rakic

When your division has a fighter like Jon Jones at the top of it, it's difficult to see anyone making any real waves. However, we've seen a bit of a resurgence at 205lb, with the likes of Johnny Walker and Dominick Reyes having impressive performances inside the Octagon.

Although those gentlemen have been wonderfully violent additions to the UFC's roster, the one prospect who is seemingly being overlooked is Alexander Rakic. This is quite surprising, considering he might be the best of a new era of light heavyweight talent.

In his first four fights in the Octagon, Rakic has shown some really nice technical striking, landing accurate punches and powerful kicks against his opponents. The versatility in his striking has been fantastic, but that's all brought together by his footwork.

Not only is he able to avoid takedown attempts by staying out of range range, he's also able to set adversaries up so he can land combinations. His grappling seems to be good, but he doesn't really need to show it when he's having so much success on the feet.

Whether or not he can actually beat Jon Jones is a different story entirely. However, he definitely has the talent to be a contender for the belt sooner rather than later.
