20 UFC Prospects Destined For Big Things In 2020
19. Aspen Ladd
Although the fight game is fickle and fans can change their opinion at the drop of a hat, writing off UFC bantamweight Aspen Ladd would be a huge mistake. If you've only seen her last fight, a knockout loss to Germaine de Randamie, then we can understand your scepticism. However, she's shown enough throughout her young career to prove she's still got a lot of talent.
Prior to the bout with de Randamie, Ladd looked like an absolute destroyer at 135lb. Her fight against former Invicta FC bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger was supposed to be a challenge for the rising prospect. Instead, we watched the 24-year old absolutely maul Evinger, in what might go down as one of the most savage beatdowns in the history of women competing in the UFC. It was bloody, brutal, and Ladd's shrill screams as she beat her opponent's face in were, quite simply, disturbing.
Her loss to de Randamie was definitely a tough one, but it's a lesson best learned early on in her career. She still has some of the most vicious ground and pound in her weight class and her other skills are developing at an extremely fast rate. If Ladd can bounce back from her first loss, she could become even more dangerous than she already is.
