20 Most Unsung Heroes In Wrestling History

12. Tully Blanchard

As the group that many wrestling fans feel is the greatest stable the sport has ever seen, the Four Horsemen certainly get a lot of praise. Ric Flair, obviously, gets viewed as one of the best wrestlers ever, and Arn Anderson has often been viewed as the most underrated of all-time, as well as being the best "sidekick" of all-time. Even JJ Dillon has been labeled by many as one of the best managers the business has ever seen. Tully Blanchard, on the other hand, often blended in, even though he was a perfect fit for the group, and a great worker. As a singles worker in the old NWA, he never reached the top, as that was a spot reserved for Ric Flair. As a tag worker, he usually saw Arn get the credit for things. All the while, Tully had everything you could ever look for in a World Champion. He could really perform well in the ring, had great heel charisma, and could cut some memorable promos. If not for his enjoyment of cocaine, which caused him his job with the WWF in 1989 and had the NWA decide they didn't want to bring him back, big things could have been on the horizon for him.
