This is a bit of a strange inclusion, because it could be said that the credit Goldust gets is both too little and just enough. When people think about the Attitude Era, there are several names that immediately come to mind. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock, all of Degeneration X, The Undertaker, and so forth. However, if you're not thinking about Goldust, you're making a big mistake. Without the Goldust character, the Attitude Era may not have really happened. Goldust was, arguably, the first true "edgy" character, pushing the boundaries, and because it all worked out well, the WWF continued to roll out edgier characters and edgier storylines, and that helped push the company to one of its biggest "boom" periods of all-time. Imagine what would have happened if Goldust would have flopped. Think about how different the second-half of the 1990s would have been for the WWF. Could we be watching WCW Monday Nitro every Monday night these days instead of Raw? As crazy as it is, that's a distinct possibility.
