20 Women WWE Need To Sign
2. Mayu Iwatani
At only 25 years-of-age, Iwatani is already widely regarded as one on the best wrestlers in the world. In Japan, she is the only wrestler who has been with Stardom since its inception, and she is one of the most dominant wrestlers in the history of the promotion. She has won five different championships including the promotion's top prize, the World of Stardom Championship. She has also competed in top-notch matches against fellow countrywomen and current NXT wrestlers Kairi Sane and Io Shirai.
Iwatani has wrestled mostly in Stardom, but in 2016 she made her American wrestling debut when she appeared in Season Three of Lucha Underground as Yurei, a member of the Black Lotus Triad. In 2018, she wrestled for ROH competing in a tournament to crown the first Women of Honor Champion. She made it to the semi-final, where she lost to Kelly Klein.
Hopefully in the future she will join Sane and Shirai. If she follows a similar pattern maybe she will sign a contract just before the 2019 Mae Young Classic and makes her anticipated debut in the tournament.
