20 Worst WWE Matches Since 2000

18. Shelton Benjamin Vs. Viscera (New Year's Revolution 2006)

What happens when you combine one of the worst wrestlers to ever set foot in a WWE ring with an angle that almost single-handedly destroyed a well-admired athletic marvel's career? This monstrosity.

Still stuck in 'World's Largest Love Machine' mode, Viscera had his sights firmly set on Momma Benajmin, who accompanied her son to the ring. Shelton was (and still is) a tremendous in-ring performer, but he couldn't drag anything close to watchable from his lumbering opponent. Even 13 years into his wrestling career, the 500lber still made Giant Gonzalez look like Ricky Steamboat, but his plodding performance wasn't even the worst thing about the match.

The whole clash was built around Momma Benjamin. She constantly distracted Viscera, with the camera frequently cutting away from the (in)action to focus on her at ringside. It all boiled down to Momma striking Vis with her purse, allowing Shelton to hit his opponent with a spinning wheel kick for the win, ending the crowd's torture in just under eight minutes.

Though not quite as abject as his SummerSlam 1995 main event with Diesel, this bout stands among the worst on Viscera's dismal resumè.
