The worst WWE Tag Team Champions of all-time were RIkishi and Rico. Bar none. Crowned in May 2002 when they were inexplicably paired up to challenge Rico's associates, and then-champions Billy and Chuck, they won the titles in a shocking bit of booking. Shocking if only because Billy and Chuck had dominated tag team wrestling for months and were one of the few tag teams left in the wake of the brand extension draft. Why WWE Creative would ever take the titles off of them to give Rikishi a meaningless run that lasted all of 16 days, is a question only those involved at the time can answer. It did nothing of note for anyone involved and, if anything hurt the run that the heels were on. At the end of the day, the title reign for Rico and Rikishi was a lame attempt by the writing staff to mix things up, to throw fans off, and it failed miserably. Billy and Chuck regained the titles in short order, titles they never should have lost, and the brief reign of the rump-shaking Samoan and the stylish manager remains a footnote in WWE history. Where it belongs.
