20 Worst WWE Wrestlers Since 2000

2. Eva Marie

WWE knew exactly what they were doing with Eva Marie. She was one of the most skill-deficient in-ring performers in modern wrestling history, and the company used this to their advantage, using Eva to mercilessly troll mainstream and developmental audiences alike.

Her late-career SmackDown run was particularly well done, with the writers using constant misdirection to make her one of her division's biggest heels. NXT was where Eva really shined, though. She drew nuclear heat from the workrate-focused Full Sail University crowd who knew she was dreadful in the ring, and were aghast that she'd invaded their safe haven. This peaked in January 2016, when Eva unbelievably eliminated Asuka from a battle royal, and there was a real fear she'd eventually became NXT Women's Champion. Fortunately, things never went this far.

Eva's whole act was built upon her being an awful wrestler, and awful she was. Her original push was Attitude-esque in that it took an inexperienced model and thrust her into an unjustifiable spotlight, and while WWE should be commended for turning this on its head by the end, nothing can erase her ghastly, botch-ridden bouts.
