Wouldn't it be tasty if WWE cheekily booked their Sin Cara to go up against the man who flopped as that character the first time around? A portion of the audience would reach for the popcorn to see that kind of thing, because it almost peels back the curtain on the original's failure.

The artist formerly known as Místico has reinvented himself as Carístico since departing WWE, and he's been able to shed the disappointment of a run that never got going. After botching entrances, walking out on matches and generally failing to excite, even teaming with Rey Mysterio wasn't enough for the original Sin Cara to convince anyone he was worthwhile.

WWE could use that to their advantage if Carístico is willing to play ball and CMLL are happy to let him exorcise some demons. That first run was an unmitigated disaster, and it needs to be put right by someone who carried such a weight of expectation years ago.
