Instead, as if there was any need to further prove his indestructible nature, he rises to his feet and walks up the ramp to a thunderous ovation. Ever since this match, bookers have tried to replicate the "resilient hero walks to the back" trope, but it always comes across as slightly forced. Nothing can come close to the organic bravery and toughness of this moment, an iconic ending to one of the most outrageous matches in wrestling history.
